Where's Pinny?

A couple of weeks ago, Cary's job had a group outing at Main Event, consisting of Laser Tag, Video Games, and of course, Bowling! Well, the winning bowling team won a trophy bowling pin, and a week later, it turned up 'missing'...

Needless to say, Cary and I had a great weekend with it, showing it around town and even giving it a free trip to Charlotte, North Carolina (it had to be checked, though, as it is considered to be a weapon).

His coworkers seem to be enjoying it, though (for the most part), and as we returned it to his office tonight, we left one last clue for 5 or so people...an outline of it with "I was here" written in the middle on dry erase marker boards!

The Adventures of Bowling B. Pin

**Just for those wondering...Cary and I did NOT take it...it was instructed for him to show it around

To All of the Fathers in the World

A Belated Father's Day Poem:

Some of you fish

Some of you frown

Some of you are just silly clowns

You taught us to eat
You taught us to play
Sometimes we think they are one in the same

May your days be full of joy
As you watch your little ones grow
The times go so fast, but remember,
You taught us everything you know!

Happy Birthday Brad

On Saturday, we got together and celebrated Father's Day and and early birthday for Cary's brother, Brad.

Most of the day was spent pool-side, watching Helen dive off the diving board, and Brad making cannonballs...the waves that were created!

Brad--
I want to wish you a very happy birthday. May God continue to bless you for at least 40 more years. I am truly glad to have you as a brother!

Save the Squirrels!

Pitter Patter of Little Feet

Little puppy feet, that is.

Meet Chester, the adorable puppy we adopted on June 13th. He is a dachshund/cocker spaniel mix. This weekend has been full of introducing him to his new family, including Cary's parents and his brother's family (Brad, Faith, and Helen). Helen loves playing with him! She wore him out, and he slept all evening and night! (thank you Helen!)

Today he will be introduced to my parents. I really hope he gets along well with the cats, especially Athena. Since Athena is still 'my' cat but lives with my parents, there might come a time that I get to bring her to live with Cary and I. And now Chester!

I'm surprised at how well behaved this 5 month old puppy is. He is playful (he has 2 toys he loves!), quiet (he whimpers in his crate for a short time, but stays quiet at night), and (knock on wood!!!) he has not made any messes in the house. He manages to hold it all night. I hope this pattern stays!

6 months!!

Can you believe that it's been 6 months already? In a way I can't. Cary states that it seems like it's been forever since we got married, but he insists it's in a positive way...

Even with how busy we've been, it has allowed us time to grow closer. Everyday I still wake up thanking God for him and I looked forward to seeing him every evening after work.

Getting the new routine didn't take long, and everything seems so natural. I have learned that I love to cook! And I'm actually not too bad with it. My favorite is obviously dessert, and I've toyed with the idea of opening a bakery with yummy pastries...Then I think about the long hours and change my mind...I'll stick with the baking for my family and friends.

I wonder how easy it has been for others to transition into their new lives. Are we an unusual pair with how great life is?

Ninjago With A Special Guest

So we took B to go see Ninjago, The LEGO movie a couple of weeks ago, and by we, I mean Cary, myself, my dad, and...my grandfather. Odd co...
