Birthday and Mother's Day Fun

Friday night:

Date night at the movies!!! This week we checked out the newly-opened (for the season) drive in movie theater, and caught the showing of Thor. We are a bit old now and were too tired to catch the second movie, True Grit, but this drive-in had 2 screens so we could look into our rear view mirrors and see in the distance Fast Five, so it was almost like a picture-in-picture event! (Not really interested in Fast Five though...maybe next time it will be a movie I'd like to 'see' backwards and with no words...)

Saturday night:

After Cary had to work during the day, he, Brylee, and I went to North Conway, NH for some last minute shopping for Mother's Day and Gary's birthday. But started off the afternoon with some ice cream and hot dogs at the newly opened (for the season) Gazebo, a cool little place that is round and painted with cow patterns and cool bright colors.

Also went to my two favorite stores, Zeb's and Penguin Store, and then to dinner at a Cider Mill Restaurant, where the food was very limited, very pricey, but very good. I had a salad with apple, pecans, apple cider vinigarette, and fried onion on it. Very tasty! Cary had roasted duck, and said that when he took his last bite, he was actually very sad. :o)

Oh, and a couple of geocaches and finishing up shopping was very successful...

Sunday:

Breakfast at our favorite Small Town restaurant:

And met with Cary's parents to drive out to Screw Auger Falls, where we picnicked and walked around looking at the beautiful water features and then driving to find the perfect location for dessert (homemade apple pie!!!) and open gifts:

(Thanks to the magic of Blogger, these pictures are in random order instead of chronological)

For Brenda's Mother's Day, she was showered with blueberries...almost literally...blueberry soda, blueberry butter, blueberry vinigarette for salads.

Gary got a volleyball/badmitton set, computer 'table', a shirt, and metal detector.

As a 'share' gift, Brylee got both of them a kit for making stepping stones, an activity they can all do together!

*Sorry I took so long posting, as in the middle of the adventure I started feeling a sore and scratchy throat, and I was out of commission earlier in the week to rest and then the rest of the week I was rushing around trying to clean the house and pack for vacation.

There are also some pictures missing I would like to add, so know that even though this is picture-heavy, expect more to come!!! :o)

Cheers!
