The 1st Memory Of Christmas That is So Fond To Me

1 Golden Kitty

In 1988 (don't ask me how I remember that year), mom, dad, and I started the tradition of uniform gift wrapping. Every package every year had identical wrapping and decorations. It became a hit with our family, everyone trying to guess what the gifts of the year were like.

The first year we had Pauly and Spunky (our 2 tuxedo cats, both no longer with us, sadly), we decided to spray gumballs (the pointy round things on trees) gold. So we set up shop in our garage, laying down newspapers on the cold floor and spray painting several of the decorations and leaving them there to dry.

Well, we have a cat door, so that the kitties can go to the litterbox in the garage. And Pauly loved the feel of the newspaper on the cold floor....And we had a black, white, and gold cat for a while! For those who don't know Pauly, he was VERY fluffy with long beautiful hair. It was quite a site!

Let's see if I can remember the years and what we did:

1988-- Silver Plastic Snowflake Garland
1989--Santa Claus Garland (he's doing flips!)
1990--Blue Poinsettias
1991--Stain Glass Paper

1993--Gumdrops
1994--Golden Gumballs (from the trees)
1995--Tree Paper
1996--Wooden Toy Figurines (Soldiers, Bears, Dolls...)
1997--Peppermints
1998--Reindeer Clothes Pins
1999--Angels
